Basic French Dressing


½ cup salad oil

¼ cup olive oil

¼ cup wine or herb vinegar

½ tspn dry paprika

¼ tspn dry mustard

¼ tspn ground black pepper

1 tspn sugar

1 tspn salt



Beat all together. Place in a jar and cover well. Best it it is left for a few hours in the refrigerator. It will keep in the refrigerator for 2-3 weeks.

Variations:

Use only salad oil if you don't like olive oil.

Use lemon juice instead of vinegar.

For added flavor place a clove of garlic (peeled) in the dressing or squeeze the juice in. Same with an onion.

For variety add a teaspoon of dried or chopped herbs: oregano, sweet basil, tarragon, thyme.
